At a Small Doll we heavily lean into the “Bread & Puppet” manifesto-energy of art making. We want all who participate in our film festivals, art nights, book clubs, markets, writing nights and events to feel welcomed and safe at all stages of their artistic careers.
We value community over competition/cliques and strive to make all artists feel joyful in sharing their creations.
While we primarily work in the genre of horror we welcome all alternative, experimental, and surreal art forms and aim to make a safe space where all feel welcome in artistic exploration.

Since 2019 Small Doll has hosted our annual “Bmore Horror Film Festival” which features the work of independent artists throughout Baltimore City and beyond. Our festivals welcome artists of all stages in their film careers and accept films of any medium. Submissions should be 5-7 minutes in length with a submission deadline of August 1.

Our “Wretched Reads” horror book club meets once a month at our friends “Old Major Baltimore” who has always been so supportive of local artists, authors, and readers.
The discussion is led by Oli Turner and is usually followed by a film pairing. These events are always free with the purchase of a drink (alcoholic or non-alcoholic available) or food item at the door.
Our book discussions are always accompanied with a Google Drive full of supplemental reading materials. To join, please email: smalldollproductions@gmail.com

Our horror/alt markets and events aim to highlight the alternative and horror artists of Baltimore who create nightmares 365 days a year.
Our events are inclusive and no hate is allowed. We pride ourselves that our markets are also always free for artists with no registration fee required.
